Three schools participated in the competition: Anda High School, Candabong National High School, and Badiang National High School. Each group hoped to impress the judges and bring pride to their school.

The first school to perform was Anda High School. As they entered the performance area, the members stood proudly in formation while holding their instruments. Their uniforms were neatly worn, and their posture showed that they were ready to begin. The audience became quiet as the performers prepared to start their routine.

When the music began, the group started marching in rhythm while playing their instruments. Their movements were steady and organized as they followed the beat of the music. From the beginning of the routine, it was clear that the group had practiced well and was determined to deliver a good performance.

Because of the band master’s entertaining performance, Anda High School received the Band Master Award. Their routine showed strong teamwork and preparation, which impressed the judges and the audience. At the end of the contest, they were awarded Third Place for their performance. Their dedication and effort were evident throughout their routine, making their presentation enjoyable to watch.

The second school to perform was Candabong National High School. As they entered the performance area, the audience immediately noticed their confident presence. The members stood proudly while holding their instruments, showing that they were ready to give their best performance.

When the music began, Candabong National High School started their routine with energetic movements. Their marching steps were lively and strong, and their rhythm was clear and consistent. The performers moved together with confidence while playing their instruments, creating a powerful musical sound that echoed throughout the plaza.

One of the most noticeable aspects of their performance was their energy. The members performed with enthusiasm and passion. Even while marching and focusing on their movements, they continued to smile. Their smiles showed that they enjoyed performing, and this positive energy made the audience enjoy watching them even more.

Their choreography was also very impressive. The group performed creative movements while maintaining their formations. They moved quickly but remained organized and coordinated. Because of their excellent coordination, Candabong National High School received the Best in Synchronization award. Their movements and music were perfectly matched, making their routine look well organized and polished.

They also received the Best in Choreography award because of their creative and energetic movements. Their routine included interesting patterns and lively marching steps that captured the attention of the audience.

Another award they received was Best in Musicality. This award recognized how well the sounds of their instruments blended together to produce a strong and balanced musical performance. Their rhythm remained steady throughout the routine, which helped maintain the energy of the presentation.

Because of their outstanding performance, Candabong National High School was declared the Champion of the DLC Contest. Their routine stood out because of their enthusiasm, coordination, and confidence. The judges were impressed by how well they combined music and movement to create an exciting and memorable presentation.

The last school to perform was Badiang National High School. As they entered the performance area, the audience immediately noticed their colorful and well-designed uniforms. The members stood in formation while holding their instruments, and their neat appearance made a strong impression on the crowd.

When the music started, the performers began their routine with steady and controlled movements. Their marching steps were precise, and their formations were clearly organized. The group showed strong discipline as they moved together across the performance area.

One of the most impressive parts of their routine was their production design. During the performance, the members created different formations that formed beautiful patterns on the ground. Another highlight of their performance was their Corp Majorette. The majorette performed confidently at the front of the group while guiding the performers. Her movements were graceful and expressive as she followed the rhythm of the music. She captured the attention of the audience with her elegant performance.

Because of her outstanding performance, Badiang National High School received the Best in Corp Majorette award. Her confidence and stage presence added excitement and elegance to the group’s routine.

The group also received the Best in Production Design award because of their creative formations and well-organized presentation. The patterns they created during their performance were visually impressive and showed the careful planning behind their routine.

With their strong and well-executed presentation, Badiang National High School won First Place in the contest. Their routine demonstrated discipline, preparation, and teamwork. The performers showed great effort in delivering a performance that impressed both the judges and the audience.

The DLC contest held at Anda Plaza became a memorable event for everyone who attended. The performances of the three schools showed the hard work and dedication of the students who participated. Each group presented a routine that reflected weeks of practice and preparation.

Work Immersion Experience at Magic Ocean Dive Resort

My journey as a work immersion student at Magic Ocean Dive Resort began on December 16. It was my first day as an immersionist, and I felt both excited and nervous because it was my first time experiencing a real workplace environment outside of school. Work immersion is an important part of our learning because it allows us to apply the knowledge we learn in school to real-life situations. It also helps us understand how different jobs are performed and how professionals work together in an actual workplace.

On that day, we arrived at the resort at around 9:30 in the morning. As soon as we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the staff. The resort had a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, which made me feel comfortable even though it was my first day. Shortly after arriving, we met Ma’am Grace, who was responsible for guiding and orienting us about our duties and responsibilities during our work immersion.

During the orientation, Ma’am Grace explained the rules and expectations that we needed to follow while working at the resort. She emphasized the importance of discipline, respect, responsibility, and teamwork. She also explained that work immersion students must always show a good attitude while working because we represent not only ourselves but also our school.

Ma’am Grace also introduced us to our work schedules. She explained that if we were assigned to the morning team, our schedule would be from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Because of this early schedule, we needed to wake up early in the morning so that we would not be late for work. Being punctual was very important because it shows responsibility and respect for the workplace.

On the other hand, if we were assigned to the evening team, the schedule would be from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The evening team would also have different tasks depending on the needs of the resort. Ma’am Grace assured us that the staff members would guide and teach us the tasks that we needed to perform. She explained that we should not be afraid to ask questions because the purpose of our immersion was to learn.

The orientation helped us understand what to expect during our work immersion. It also prepared us mentally and emotionally for the responsibilities we would experience in the following days. Even though I was a little nervous at first, I was also excited because I knew that this experience would teach me many valuable lessons.

During my journey as an immersionist at Magic Ocean Dive Resort, I experienced many different tasks and responsibilities that helped me learn about working in a real environment. On my second day, which was December 17, it was my first time being assigned to the morning team. Because our schedule started at 6:00 in the morning, I needed to wake up very early to prepare myself for work. Adjusting to this routine was not easy at first, but I understood that discipline and time management were important in any job.

When I arrived at the resort early in the morning, I immediately prepared myself for the tasks that needed to be done. As part of the morning team, we were assigned to different areas depending on where help was needed. Most of our tasks were related to housekeeping and maintaining the cleanliness of the resort.

One of our main responsibilities was cleaning the guest rooms. This included arranging the beds neatly, cleaning the tables and furniture, sweeping the floors, and mopping the rooms. Cleanliness is very important in a resort because guests expect a comfortable and relaxing place to stay. Making sure that the rooms were clean and well-organized helped create a positive experience for the guests.

Aside from cleaning rooms, we also helped maintain the cleanliness of other areas of the resort. These included hallways, outdoor spaces, and other guest facilities. Working in housekeeping taught me how important attention to detail is when performing tasks. Even small things like properly arranging pillows or making sure the floor was spotless could make a big difference in the overall appearance of the resort.

From December 18 until December 29, the staff assigned me the responsibility of cleaning the bathrooms. At first, I found this task challenging because cleaning bathrooms requires careful attention and proper sanitation. However, I understood that this responsibility was very important because cleanliness and hygiene are essential for the comfort and safety of the guests.

Every morning, after completing my personal daily routine at home, I arrived at the resort before our shift started. At around 6:10 AM, I would begin cleaning the bathrooms. My tasks included scrubbing the sinks, cleaning the mirrors, washing the toilet areas, mopping the floors, and making sure that everything was properly sanitized. I also checked if there were enough supplies such as tissue, soap, and paper towels.

I usually finished cleaning the bathrooms at around 6:30 AM. After completing my assigned task, I would go to my co-immersionists to help them with their work. One of the tasks that we often did together was setting up the tables for breakfast. This task required us to arrange the plates, utensils, glasses, and table decorations neatly so that everything would look presentable for the guests.

Once we finished setting up the tables, we would go to the kitchen area to help the staff with small tasks. Sometimes we helped carry supplies, prepare utensils, or organize materials that the kitchen staff needed. Helping the staff made us feel like we were part of the team, and it also helped reduce their workload during busy hours.

At around 9:00 AM, we were given time to eat our breakfast. This was also a moment for us to relax and talk with our fellow immersion students. After eating, we were given a 30-minute break to rest and regain our energy.

At around 10:00 AM, we would continue working again. During this time, we usually focused on housekeeping tasks such as cleaning rooms, organizing supplies, and making sure that the resort facilities were ready for the guests. We usually worked on these tasks until around 11:30 AM.

There were times when the work became tiring, especially when the resort had many guests. During busy days, there were more rooms to clean and more tasks to complete. However, these experiences helped me realize that hard work and patience are very important in any job.

I also learned the value of teamwork during our work immersion. Many tasks could not be completed alone, so we needed to cooperate and help each other. By working together, we were able to finish our tasks more efficiently.

Another important lesson I learned was the importance of having a positive attitude. The staff members always encouraged us to do our best and reminded us to stay positive even when the work was challenging. Their guidance helped us become more confident in performing our tasks.

Through this experience, I learned how to be more responsible and professional. I learned how to follow instructions carefully and how to complete tasks properly. I also learned how to communicate respectfully with staff members and fellow workers.

Working in a real environment also helped me understand how businesses operate and how employees contribute to the success of an organization. Seeing how the staff worked together to maintain the resort made me appreciate the effort and dedication required in the hospitality industry.

My work immersion experience at Magic Ocean Dive Resort was one of the most valuable learning experiences I have had as a student. It gave me the opportunity to experience the reality of working in a professional environment and taught me lessons that cannot easily be learned inside the classroom.

Through the tasks that I performed each day, I learned the importance of discipline, responsibility, patience, and teamwork. I also gained practical skills in housekeeping, time management, and communication. These skills will be very helpful for me in the future, whether in my studies or in my future career.

The staff at the resort played an important role in making this experience meaningful. Their guidance, patience, and encouragement helped me become more confident in performing my responsibilities. They also taught me how professionalism should be practiced in the workplace.

This work immersion experience also helped me develop a positive work attitude. I learned that every job is important and that every task should be done with dedication and care. Even simple tasks like cleaning or arranging items require effort and attention.

Overall, my journey as an immersionist at Magic Ocean Dive Resort was an unforgettable experience. It allowed me to grow as a student and as a person. The knowledge, skills, and lessons that I gained from this experience will continue to guide me as I pursue my goals in life and prepare for my future career.

Lamanok Island is a mysterious place located in Badiang, Anda, Bohol. The island is famous for its unique rock formations, spirits, and ancient rituals associated with it. Visiting Lamanok Island on January 6, 2026, was an adventurous experience for me, as it was my first time visiting a place rich in both history and natural beauty.

Lamanok Island offers three main activities: a mangrove tour, snorkeling, and an island tour. However, I chose to explore and discover the island itself. Upon arrival, the tour guide reminded us to remain calm, avoid shouting, and show respect to the island. With this reminder, I felt ready for a meaningful experience.

My adventure at Lamanok Island began as I boarded a boat and paddled my way toward the island. Along the way, strong waves appeared, causing the boat to shake. Despite this, I reached the island safely. Upon arrival, I was amazed by the beauty of my surroundings, which encouraged me to proceed to my next destination.

My first destination on Lamanok Island was a cave that served as an ancient burial site. Inside, I saw bones placed in coffins and large clam shells along the right side of the cave. According to our tour guide, these were the remains of early humans who once inhabited the area and were buried there after death. Next, we visited the Red Rock Hematite Painting Cave, where a large cross and ancient paintings could be seen on the rock wall. The paintings symbolized “here” or “we are here” and were created using a paste made from plants and animal fat mixed with water. The native people used their fingers or animal tails to apply the pigment onto the cave walls.

We then proceeded to the Ca Iska Rock Shelter and Bat Cave. On the way, I saw small monkeys hanging from the trees, unaware of our presence, which surprised me. Upon arriving at the cave, I was astonished to see many bats resting on the ceiling. The cave was said to have been inhabited by a woman who lived alone in the early 1880s. People feared her because they believed she was a witch who killed infants and young children. No one dared to visit the island until she reportedly died. After hearing this story, I felt a chill run down my spine and the hairs on my neck stood up. Because of my fear, we decided not to proceed further and instead moved on to another cave.

Afterward, I felt calmer when we visited the Shaman Cave, where rituals were performed during Holy Week. Roosters were commonly offered, while some shamans also sacrificed pigs, cows, or other animals depending on their requests. Many visitors had also left money and personal belongings in the cave as offerings. Another interesting fact about Lamanok Island is that it remains rich in wildlife. Bohol’s tarsier, known as mawmag in our dialect, can be found there, and flying lemurs or kagwang may also be seen if one is lucky enough. Finally, we returned home safely, and I felt grateful that our trip ended without incident.

Overall, my experience on Lamanok Island was truly memorable. I learned many things and experienced emotions such as fear, curiosity, and deep respect for the island. I realized the importance of respecting other cultures, nature, and the traditions passed down by our ancestors. Lamanok Island taught me that a place should not only be visited, but also respected and cared for.

Sinulog sa Cebu is an annual Filipino cultural and religious festival celebrated every third Sunday of January in Cebu City. It is the country’s central devotion to the Santo Niño and is widely recognized as one of the largest cultural and religious festivals in the Philippines. The 2027 Sinulog celebration reportedly attracted more than 5.2 million attendees. Aside from its strong religious significance, Sinulog is also known for its lively street parties, which usually take place on the eve of the main festival. Because of its grandeur and scale, the event is often referred to as the “Grandest Festival in the Philippines” by both locals and participants.

The Sinulog Grand Showdown for 2026 was held on January 18, 2026, at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC). The program began at 9:15 a.m. and concluded with the grand parade and ritual showdown. A total of 37 contingents participated in the event, including 12 out-of-town contingents. These came from the Kalivungan Festival of Amas, Kidapawan City; Zamboanga City High School–Main; Bais City; Tabaco College (Albay); Muntinlupa City; Talon-Talon National High School (Zamboanga City); Maria Clara L. Lobregat National High School (Zamboanga City); Malita, Davao Occidental; Tagbilaran City; Antipolo City; Zamboanga Sibugay; and Las Piñas City. A special guest contingent from the MassKara Festival also joined the celebration.

Eight contingents represented Cebu Province and nearby cities, including Toledo City, Carcar City, Alcoy, Mandaue City, Carmen, Dumanjug, Moalboal, and Asturias, with Danao City participating as a special guest contingent. Meanwhile, 17 Sinulog sa Dakbayan contingents took part, representing Basakanon, Basak Pardo, Barrio Luz, Guadalupe, Banilad, Binaliw, Mabolo, San Nicolas Proper, Inayawan, San Roque, Tisa, Kasambagan, Babag, Tribu Kinaiyahan, UP Cebu, Labangon, and Talamban.

The grand parade passed through major streets such as P. del Rosario Street, Imus Road, General Maxilom Avenue, Osmeña Boulevard, and R. Landon Extension before returning to the Cebu City Sports Complex. The festival atmosphere was vibrant and colorful, highlighted by energetic street dancing and intense ritual showdowns.

After the competition, winners were announced in several categories. In the Sinulog-Based Category, fifth place went to Mandaue City (₱750,000), fourth place to Banay Labangon (₱1,000,000), third place to Carcar City (₱1,500,000), second place to the Municipality of Dumanjug (₱2,000,000), and the champion was Tagbilaran City, which received ₱3,000,000.

For the Free Interpretation Category, fifth place was awarded to Tribu Carmenon (₱750,000), fourth place to Lambo Mabolo (₱1,000,000), third place to Hudyaka sa Bais (₱1,500,000), second place to the Kalivungan Festival of the Province of Cotabato (₱2,000,000), and the champion was Toledo City, which received ₱3,000,000.

In the Best in Street Dancing category, fifth place went to Hudyaka sa Bais Festival (₱200,000), fourth place to Lumad Basakanon (₱300,000), third place to the Kalivungan Festival (₱500,000), second place to Carcar City (₱700,000), and first place to Toledo City (₱1,000,000).

For Best in Musicality (Free Interpretation), Lumad Basakanon placed fifth, Tribu Carmenanon fourth, the Province of Cotabato third, Hudyaka sa Bais second, and Toledo City won first place. In the Sinulog-Based Category, Best in Musicality awards were given to Zamboanga City’s Maria Clara L. Lobregat National High School (5th), Carcar City (4th), Banay Labangon (3rd), Banaun Cultural Group (2nd), and Tagbilaran City (1st). Best in Costume awards were given to Banay Labangon for the Sinulog-Based Category (₱100,000) and Toledo City for the Free Interpretation Category (₱100,000).

For the first time in Sinulog history, Tagbilaran City participated in the Sinulog Grand Showdown and made history as the first contingent from Bohol Province to win the prestigious competition. The city’s entry, Pundok sa Nagkahiusang Bol-anon, was declared overall champion in the Sinulog-Based Category Ritual Showdown and also won First Prize for Best in Musicality (Sinulog-Based).

The contingent was composed of 400 members, including 100 dancers, 200 props handlers, and 100 instrumentalists. Their dedication, discipline, and teamwork resulted in a synchronized and culturally rooted performance that captivated audiences during the Sinulog Grand Parade.

My Most Memorable Experience as an Immersionist at Anda Pearl Premier Resort

Some days, I felt both excitement and overwhelming self-doubt. Other days reminded me how hard work truly is and how I needed to push myself every single day. There were mornings when I woke up feeling tired and unsure if I could keep up with everything I needed to learn and accomplish. From talking to guests, washing dishes, asking help from my co-immersionists, to coordinating with the staff and the people around me—everything required courage. Still, I am glad I took the risk and was willing to learn everything I could.

It was challenging, to be honest, especially when I made mistakes because I lacked knowledge or failed to ask how things should be done. There were bad days and there were good days. By taking small steps, I began to feel that I was no longer doing things just because I was an immersionist, but because they were important and would help me in the future.

I am just an ordinary person with no special knowledge about this kind of work. At first, I felt out of place and doubted whether I could do it. However, with the people around me, I found the strength and courage to face something new. The good side of the experience was that everyone believed in me and was willing to help. The resort staff taught me many things—from learning how to be patient and kind, to always smiling at the people around me. Through this, I found ways to overcome challenges that had been a hindrance to me since my first day. As I worked through every challenge, relationships grew stronger, and tasks slowly started to become enjoyable.

Looking back to December 15, when I first started, I realized how much I learned and how much I grew. The challenges helped me become stronger and taught me how to handle difficult situations. I learned that you don’t need to be perfect at everything, nor do you need special talents or skills to work well. With hard work, perseverance, and commitment, every effort pays off. I am proud of everything I went through, and I could not have achieved this without the help of the people around me.

Both the good and bad days taught me that everything takes time and does not need to be rushed—it’s a matter of moving forward step by step. This experience taught me that a privilege like this is not about being inferior or better than others, but about using the opportunity to gain knowledge, learn from it, and make the most of every moment we are given.

It helps students grow not only academically, but also socially and creatively. It gives students the opportunity to present their skills in arts, science, sports, entrepreneurship, and performances. As a TVL student, it was an amazing opportunity for me to practice our skills not just socially, but also in critical thinking. It felt like real practice, especially since we are all preparing for our Work Immersion. It taught me a lot about cooperation, leadership, and teamwork.

My experience during Education Week on November 27–28, 2025, at Badiang National High School was truly unforgettable. I was able to help sell different kinds of street foods such as barbecue, chicken intestines, and chicken feet. The campus was full of energy, and it felt exciting to be part of students who had their own small booths. We also won Best Booth Award and Best Christmas Tree Award. It was very unexpected, especially because we were so busy and did not have enough time to prepare properly. The preparation was rushed, but thanks to the help of the HUMSS students, they managed to decorate our booth and made it one of the best booths on campus. Selling street food taught me a lot—not just about handling money, but also about being patient and responsible.

What made the experience even better was the teamwork and laughter with my friends. We supported each other, helped cook and serve, and enjoyed every moment even when things became hectic. Handling customers taught me how to be patient and more understanding during times of pressure. As a TVL student, I learned how to deal with difficult customers. Based on what I learned in my strand, it is important to empathize with customers and put yourself in their shoes. These real-world lessons are just as important as academics.

Serving for the first time as a Lay Liturgical Minister (LLM) was an experience that challenged my fears and strengthened my faith in God. At first, I thought it would be a simple task—just reading—but it turned out to be a meaningful moment that taught me that true service is not about performance, but about mission and calling. It is about offering oneself to God sincerely and wholeheartedly.

Putting on the Lay Liturgical Minister (LLM) uniform for the first time, I already felt nervous as I looked in the mirror, constantly reminding myself that I could do it. What ifs flooded my mind—what if I made a mistake while reading? What if I mispronounced a word? As I walked toward the church, my hands trembled and my pulse fluttered. However, knowing that my friends were beside me and that it was also their first time serving somehow gave me a sense of relief. I reminded myself that I was not alone in this journey.

When we arrived at the church, I composed myself and reread the First Reading, since I was assigned as the first reader. I practiced carefully and asked for clarification on the proper pronunciation of certain words to make sure I would read them correctly. A few minutes later, we proceeded to our seats. As I sat down, I looked up and saw the image of God. I silently prayed for guidance, hoping everything would turn out well. I closed my eyes and took deep breaths to calm my tense heart.

When the priest arrived, my attention shifted. I listened carefully and kept in mind everything I learned from our seminars and rehearsals. As we walked down the aisle and bowed before the altar, I felt my heart thump louder than ever. When I reached the podium, I heard nothing but silence. I looked at the people and began to read. As I spoke the first word, a thought flashed in my mind—read with heart. And so I did. With every word I read, I felt its meaning deeply, as if it touched not only my voice but every part of me—my heart, my bones, my spirit. It felt light in my heart.

When I finished reading, it felt as though a heavy weight had been lifted from me. I was deeply thankful that everything went well. I realized that despite my fear of speaking in front of many people, I was able to overcome it—not by my strength alone, but because I was serving God. Since I have the ability to read, I used it to share His words with others.

After the Mass, I came to understand that serving is not about performance or how one appears before others. It is a mission—a calling. This experience made me realize that serving in the house of God and serving God Himself is more than just standing and reading aloud in front of people. It is a calling that humbles me, gives me courage, and strengthens my faith. Through this experience, I learned that when service is offered to God, fear slowly turns into purpose, and even the smallest role becomes meaningful.

Witnessing the Dujanon Queens at the Anda Cultural Center was an experience I will never forget. I was very excited that day because it was my first time seeing the queens in person. As soon as we arrived at the cultural center, I noticed many cars and motorcycles parked around the area, which already told me that a large crowd had gathered for the event. The place was filled with excitement even before the program began.

As I walked through the crowd, I could sense that the night would be different from any other event I had attended. There were no chairs left, showing how packed the venue was. My friends and I came as supporters, and we reunited with our classmates and mutual friends. We shared stories, laughter, and excitement while waiting for the show to begin. The atmosphere felt warm and lively, and everyone was eager to witness the celebration.

The program began with a doxology, followed by the triple hymns, which gave the event a meaningful and respectful opening. After this, the queens started walking down the aisle, and the crowd immediately grew louder. Everyone was excited to see and cheer for their queens. Supporters brought drums, banners, balloons, and other cheering materials to show their love and loyalty. Cheers echoed throughout the cultural center as people proudly shouted the names of their queens.

Each appearance of the queens was followed by a speech or a dance presentation, allowing them time to prepare for their next outfit. Every walk felt special, and the queens carried themselves with confidence and grace. The audience remained fully engaged, cheering nonstop as the program continued.

The question-and-answer portion made many fans nervous. Supporters held their breath as their queens responded, hoping they would answer clearly and confidently. Loud cheers followed every strong and meaningful response, while moments of silence revealed the tension felt by the crowd. Still, the support never faded.

Finally, the most awaited moment arrived—the awarding ceremony. Smoke filled the stage as the queens walked forward wearing their grand gowns and holding the image of Señor Santo Niño. They danced gracefully while the crowd went wild. Balloons were tossed into the air, banners were waved, and drums were beaten loudly as supporters shouted with pride and joy.

Then, the crown was finally awarded to the queen from Tawid, Juliana Mae Aton. The crowd erupted in cheers as her name was announced. She is the daughter of District Supervisor Danilo Aton, which made the moment even more meaningful. The people of Tawid, especially Juliana’s family, were overwhelmed with happiness and disbelief, as they did not expect her to win. Supporters cheered even louder, showing their pride and love for their queen.

Juliana stood with confidence and grace, showing her deep faith in Señor Santo Niño. Her beautiful personality and thoughtful answer during the question-and-answer portion truly stood out. Her victory felt well deserved, and the celebration that followed was filled with joy, unity, and gratitude. That night was not just about beauty and competition, but about culture, faith, and the strong bond of the community—an experience I will always remember.

Our whole class at St. Cecilia celebrated Teachers’ Day in our classroom. We put together a small program to say a big thank-you to our most special teacher for all the kindness she has shown us. Every single day, she is not just teaching us lessons, but also guiding us in the right direction. She never stops supporting us, even when we are being difficult or a bit too loud. This activity allowed us to express our gratitude, and it felt good to know that our efforts did not go unnoticed.

The classroom was buzzing with excitement as we decorated and set everything up, creating a cheerful atmosphere. Some students helped arrange the chairs and tables, while others focused on decorating and preparing for the program. Before the event began, everyone was chatting and laughing with classmates, which made the moment even more enjoyable. When the program started, we listened attentively and enthusiastically participated in all the planned activities. We also prepared a presentation filled with pictures and heartfelt messages especially for our teacher. This part of the celebration meant a lot to us, as it showed our appreciation in the way we truly wanted.

The celebration reminded us of something important: our teachers are true rockstars when it comes to helping us learn new things, improve our skills, and grow as individuals—not just as students. In the end, the Teachers’ Day celebration at St. Cecilia was a meaningful and memorable experience. It reminded us that we should always show respect and appreciation for our teachers, not only on Teachers’ Day, but every day.

 A Journey Through Time: The Magnificent BNHS Christmas Tableau

Our recent Christmas celebration at Badiang National High School made the campus feel truly magical. The program began with a doxology followed by the triple hymns, as the students’ voices filled the air with peace and reverence. As the final notes faded, the atmosphere shifted into a grand storytelling experience. This marked the beginning of a spectacular Tableau that took the audience on a journey through the history of humanity.

The production opened with the magnificent wonder of the Creation of Heaven and Earth, instantly bringing the stage to life. God was shown creating Adam from dust, giving life to the world. Soon after, Eve was created to be his companion in the beautiful Garden of Eden, completing the first human family. However, the scene dramatically changed when Satan persuaded Eve to eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This act led to a dark presentation filled with suffering, revealing how sin, selfishness, and sorrow first entered the world. For a moment, the scene felt utterly hopeless.

The darkness faded as the tableau shifted to the town of Nazareth. A young woman named Mary received a visit from an angel sent from heaven. The angel comforted her and delivered a message of hope, announcing that she had been chosen to be the mother of the Savior, Jesus Christ. Joseph was also visited by an angel who reassured him and instructed him to protect the child who would save the world. With this message, the play’s tone shifted from sorrow to anticipation and faith.

The audience then witnessed Mary and Joseph’s long and difficult journey to Bethlehem. As the birth of Jesus Christ drew near, the tableau showed them searching desperately for a place to stay. They were turned away from every door until they finally found refuge in a humble, modest stable. It was there that Jesus was born and the miracle took place. The scene concluded with the arrival of the Three Kings, dressed in royal attire, who bowed before the newborn King and offered their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

The brilliant creative force behind this entire production was our MAPEH instructor, Sir Edwin Jandayan. Through his vision, the play came to life with dynamic dance performances and live singing by the students of Badiang National High School. His dedication and effort made the ancient stories feel vivid, meaningful, and deeply moving. The joyful finale brought the entire cast together on stage to perform a lively rendition of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” It was the perfect ending—celebrating hope, unity, and faith. This production was truly a masterpiece that showcased the extraordinary talent of the BNHS family.

From Practice to Performance;my most unforgettable moment was on October 14, 2025 during the Division Executive Conference held in Quinale Beach Bar located at Anda, Bohol. The event gathered educators and staff from different schools, together with the highest-ranked person from the Division office of Bohol. What made my experience even more challenging was that we only have one day of practice, and it felt extremely crammed because we had to learn and perfect the two dance presentations. 

 

 As the day arrived we didn't waste the time, we learn and perfect the dances in just a few hours. The morning was filled with hurried practice; we're all nervous thinking, "kaya kaha ni nato?" but we did not lose hope, we trusted each other and we focused because Sir Edwin encouraged us to not give up. Days before that, an unexpected earthquake and rainy days caused disruptions, delaying our preparation schedule.

The preparation was so intense. We mattered every step, from hand movements to footwork, and most importantly the timing. Even though it felt crammed, we stay focused and supported each other, correcting each mistakes and encouraging one another. When we arrived at the Quinale Beach Bar, we prepared ourselves and were given food, which we had to eat quickly because the program was about to start. Everything felt rushed, but our patience still exists and reminded one another,"kaya lagi ni nato." 

It was finally our turn to dance; we walked there smiling, carrying an excitement mixed with nervousness. As the music started, the audience's attention was entirely on us. We were greeted with loud applause and beautiful smiles from them; some were taking photos and videos, while others started to join dancing, and because of that we were motivated and gained more confidence to perform a better performance. After we presented, Mr.Danilo Aton delivered his speech, thanking everyone for coming and giving time for this event, he also remind us to continue valuing culture and teamwork. 

 

Dancing on stage in front of many people,I felt an excitement and nervousness, but the music and people around cheered us up. Performing in front of an appreciative audience gave us a sense of accomplishment. The cheers and smiles reminded us that all the pressure,cramming time and hard work had paid off. Beyond the steps and choreography,this experience help us build teamwork and patience.It was a day full of pressure, stress,and sir Eds kasaba but it was also a day we all learned,grow, and having unforgettable memories.

My Experience as a Sandugo Festival Dancer by Evah Mhey Roa

July 27, 2025, marked  an unforgettable                moment Sandugo as a  first-time  dancer,  as we show our talents,  teamwork, passion to  dance, energy, and  discipline. Competing   in  the Sandugo Festival  in Tagbilaran City, we are proudly present as Hiyas Quinale, and we are aiming to showcase the beauty of Anda, talents, and passion in dance. With the support of the LGU and led by Mr. Rouvien De Guzman Anda, tourism manager, and our very own mayor, Angelina Simacio, what made it remarkable was that it was my first time joining as a Sandugo dancer, and Anda got the place, which is 4th place. This experience encourages me to continue joining the Sandugo Festival as a dancer.

Being a first-time dancer in the Sandugo Festival is not easy because there are so many challenges. In practicing dance, first we gather all to pray; second, we do warm-up exercises so we won’t get tired easily and so we can sweat; and the last one is that we start to practice our dance step by step.

The night we've all been waiting for, the competition was intense, with the talented contingent municipalities of Loboc, Loay, Dimiao, Getafe, and Tagbilaran City bringing the beauty of their own towns. With every dance we enjoy and every one we show that is unique, we knew that Hiyas Quinale had something different that created beauty and was special.

This experience taught me the value of hard work, teamwork, and confidence. Being part of the Sandugo Festival inspired me to keep dancing and to proudly represent Anda in future festivals. I also learned that being a first-timer is not easy. We feel fear and are afraid of making mistakes. However, trust and compassion within us help build confidence and beauty in the way we dance with grace. Do not be afraid if it is your first time. Nothing bad will happen if you try. Always trust yourself.

My Mother's 49th Birthday

For me, celebrating my mother's 49th birthday was one of the most unforgettable experience I ever had. It was among the most memorable experiences of my life. The day was more than just about gifts and food. It was about expressing love and gratitude for all that she has done for our family. The occasion was made even more memorable by helping each other out with the tasks.

Our family gathered together at home to celebrate my mom's birthday. Together, we prepared different kinds of dishes. Before the celebration began, we made sure everything was ready and set up the table. I helped with basic tasks like arranging the food and keeping the place clean and presentable. As she saw us presenting her birthday cake and handed a bouquet of flowers, a bright smile was shown on her face which made all the effort worth it.

During our celebration, we shared stories and laughed together. Witnessing a moment where my family and I enjoying the foods we made was the best feeling ever. Everyone was content and in the moment, which made it feel warm and happy. That day reminded me of the importance of family bonding, especially during special occasions where everyone is present.

The 49th birthday celebration of my mother was an unforgettable experience. It taught me the value of love, effort, and togetherness. I realized that simple parties and celebrations can be very special when they come from the heart. I will always treasure that moment and continue to appreciate my mom, not just on her birthday, but in every single day.

UNITED IN JOY:BADIANG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PARTY 2025

2025 YEAR END PARTY     

Once the ber months arrive, Christmas is already felt all around  in our barangay, school, and every corner of our surroundings. But as students, there is one thing we always look forward, which is the Christmas Party. It is a time where everyone talk with laughter, and a chance to celebrate the season of joy, with friends and classmates.

 

Even before December began, we, together with our adviser, Ms. Mechel D. Alba, started planning for the party. We discussed the food that each barangay should prepare and decided on a theme. After so many suggestions and a litte bit discussion, the majority voted for a “Tita/Tito Outfit” theme. After that I even ordered my outfit and sandals after school because of the excitement. 

 

As time goes by, the Christmas Party is already approaching, our excitement grew even more because of the exchange gift which worth 200 pesos. The day before the party, preparations were in full of excitement. We  planned to make vegetable lumpia, but sadly we running out stock  of wrappers, we decided to prepare lechon manok instead. Our adviser also requested that we prepare mango float, which everyone of us like mango float as a dessert. Each barangay was assigned a dish: Badiang prepared spaghetti, Talisay prepared lechon manok, and Linawan prepared laroca . Kaylee and I, prepared the mango float in her house. Everyone worked with inspired, and we managed to finish all preparations.

 

Finally, the long-awaited day arrived. I taking quick showers, dressing in our dance presentation outfits which is red top, and white pants. Packing the food and exchange gifts. Upon arriving at school, Maam Sabing ask us to continue the decoration and set up everything for the program to begin. The Christmas Party started with a heartfelt tableau about the nativity story, its shows how Angel Gabriel approached Mary and the birth of Jesus. Even though this story is shows every year, it still left everyone with goosebumps. Following the tableau, each grade level presented their performances. Start with the grade 7 until 12. But sadly Grade 12 St. Cecilia was not around due their immersion, but their presence was still felt through the energy and spirit of the celebration. Performances from all grades has a wonderful performance and our group had its funny moments of confusion, but still a wonderful performance.

 

After the performances, we prepared for lunch and decide the games. While waiting for everyone to be ready, we enjoyed to witness the delicious food prepared by our adviser and Maam Gina rontal, sang Christmas songs, and even made TikTok videos together. 

 

As everyone is ready, it started with a small, meaningful activity led by our adviser. She gave each of us a little heart-shaped sticky note and instructed us to write down two things we are grateful for this year in just two minutes. and it’s my time to shared it states that I’ grateful for having the courage to try new things once I am afraid of and grateful for the gift of life  to make mistakes, regret thinhs, cry, lied, but above all, I learned. Almost of my classmates became emotional, expressing their gratefulness for their loved ones. One memorable moment was when John Carlo Castrodes shared that he is grateful that he took the opportunity and have courage to open up to his parents that he is attracted to a male.The sincerity and courage of his confession touched everyone.

 

After this heartwarming moment, we prayed together and then finally sat down to eat. The table was filled of  delicious dishes There was even ice cream, and Ma’am Gina Rontal brought some special treats, which Michaela took home because she really enjoyed them. 

 

Everyone had eaten, it was time for games. Each grade level prepared fun activities. As Ma’am Len called for everyone to gather outside. We, grade 12 St: Mark hadn’t finished eating yet, but we hurried to finish eating because the games were about to start. Some students stayed behind in the room to continue videoke, while others went outside to participate in the games. Each one of us really enjoying the games. 

 

After enjoying the games and videoke, we went back inside the room for the exchange gift. It was very noisy, with everyone excitedly opening their gifts. Some received cash instead of their wishlist because their gifts hadn’t arrived yet, and the most funny moment was seeing Brian Simacon and Jasmine Castrodes exchange cash which made us laugh.

After the exchange gift, we clean up, washed the dishes, and also washed the trash can. So everything was done, it was finally time to go home, ending a fun and memorable Christmas Party. 

 

This party isn’t  just an event it was a celebration of love, joy, hope and the spirit of Christmas. We especially enjoyed it because it was one of the last Christmas parties we would have before graduating and moving on to college, where we might not have the chance to celebrate like this again.
