CANDIJAY, BOHOL — The municipality of Candijay came alive with the energy, excitement, and determination of young athletes as Alicia, Mabini, Anda, Guindulman, and host town Candijay gathered for the CAMAG Sub-Congressional Athletic Meet 2026, held from September 13 to 15, 2026.

With the theme “One Team, One Dream: Building Stronger Communities Through Sports,” the three-day athletic gathering brought together athletes, coaches, teachers, parents, school officials, local government representatives, Public Schools District Supervisors, sports officials, and spectators in one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year.

Upon arrival in Candijay, the athletes proceeded to their respective designated billeting areas, which would temporarily become their homes throughout the competition. The Anda delegation, for instance, was billeted at Tugas Elementary School, where athletes, coaches, and teachers immediately began settling in and preparing for the days ahead.

Everyone gathered with one purpose: to seek God's guidance and blessing for the athletic meet. The Holy Mass served as a spiritual beginning to the competition and provided participants with an opportunity to express gratitude and ask for guidance as they prepared for the challenges ahead.

FAITH BEFORE COMPETITION

A true champion is not defined only by the medals they receive. A true champion is someone who respects opponents, follows the rules, accepts decisions, works hard, remains humble, encourages teammates, accepts defeat with dignity, celebrates victory responsibly, learns from mistakes, and never stops improving. The CAMAG Athletic Meet 2026 gave young people an opportunity to demonstrate these qualities. In the end, the greatest victory was not simply found in the number of medals won, but in the character developed, friendships formed, lessons learned, and dreams inspired through the shared experience of sports.
