Badiang National High School Night Presents Drama & Musical “Bidlisiw sa Kagahapon” by: Gloria Margareth T. Bolotaolo

Badiang National High School Night Presents Drama & Musical “Bidlisiw sa Kagahapon” January 13, 2025, when the second episode titled "Bidlisiw sa Kagahapon" was aired. Prior to this, the romantic drama of the De Magiba family, which thrilled the audience, took place on January 8, 2025. The second episode introduced additional characters, showcasing a mix of emotions.

The second episode of Bidlisiw sa Kagahapon was a meaningful presentation that brought to life the customary practices of the past. Through the colorful reenactment of past life, from the traditional gesture of respect (pagmamano), eating together at the dining table, to playing traditional games, the drama showcased how the simple life back then was filled with respect, discipline, and family values. The addition of more characters in the second episode brought deeper emotions to the story, further clarifying the show's message.

One of the important messages of the show is the significant difference between the youth of the past and the present. Before, respect for parents was not only shown in words but also in actions and deeds. There is fear and obedience towards parents, and the punishments for wrongdoings become a way to learn from mistakes. Currently, these customs are gradually disappearing due to modern times; children are becoming more obsessed with their cellphones than bonding with their families, and respect for parents seems to be disappearing from the vocabulary of some young people. Because of this, many parents find it difficult to discipline their children, resulting in a lack of discipline and appreciation for traditional values.

However, technology should not be an obstacle to completely losing the good practices of the past. The goal of Bidlisiw sa Kagahapon is not to hinder change or our progress but to remind us that there are customs we should uphold. Respect for elders, discipline, and valuing family should not vanish like a bubble, even as times change and expand. Therefore, let us maintain Filipino customs such as respecting the elders because this type of presentation is timely as it serves as a guide for our youth to understand the value and tradition of valuing family and society.

At the end of the drama, Filipinos have golden hearts, and the Filipino race is rich in culture and values. This is an important lesson left for the viewers: progress does not mean forgetting our heritage and our customs and culture. We should revisit the beautiful customs of the past and pass them on to the next generation. In this way, "Bidlisiw sa Kagahapon" is not just a play but a reminder that amidst change, our identity and appreciation for family should remain strong and unshaken by anything. May it serve as an inspiration or guide to our youth to value their families more and not forget the customs and traditions that strengthen our identity as a nation.
